Rhigos V Ogmore Vale PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 26 October 2009 16:54

Score 26-6

Rhigos got off to a flying start to the game, orchestrated majestically by the return to form of Andrew Goodenough (Goody). Playing out of position at fly half, his game control and tactical awareness ensured that Rhigos were in total control of every aspect of the game.

The Rhigos pack totally dominated the visiting pack at scrum time and at the lineout, ensuring that the Rhigos backs had a steady stream of quality ball.

Rhigos welcomed back star full back, Spudman (aka Dicky) from his latest adventures (don’t ask !!!) And was once again safe under the high ball in the poor conditions.

Even against the harsh elements Rhigos outscored the visitors four tries to nil.
Leading the try scoring through his power work and silky running skills was Jon Smith, scoring 3 tries in atrocious conditions... he even has scrum burns for his efforts.
Andrew Goodenough completed his star performance at outside half with a spectacular try (you had to see it to believe it).
Nathan Davies (Billy) had a near perfect afternoon with the boot converting all tries, and missing just one penalty.

Rhigos coaches (Merlyn and Ian) extended a special thank you to superstar loose forward Michael Lovett for giving away NO penalties in the game... Not one, not even a yellow card. Well done Mike, keep it up.

The man of the match award was awarded to Andrew Goodenough, after being carried off the field by members of his own team and the opposition, following a majestic performance. There was talk of an open top bus through the local community but it had to be abandoned due to health and safety concerns over swine flu.
